We live in a society of intense food wastage. I mean, it's a figure I don't even care to know, I know that while people world wide are starving themselves and putting their children to bed on empty stomachs it's not something I can be okay with. The fact that this food has become stock feed, simply because it doesn't look like the (for instance...) Carrot, or Canteloupe we are used to seeing. Due to a blemish or discolouration is just absolutely deplorable. I don't like Woolworths, nor do I necessarily trust their motives. But I do think this could be a step in the right direction: www.3aw.com.au/blogs/3aw-blog/ugly-fruit-gets-second-chance/20141204-3lsx5.htmlSo tell me. Do you buy with your eyes, or with your appetite purely?

Pink slime? That just sounds incredibly gross!
Maybe figure out what's with that?

Okay, so there was a story about a year ago coming out of High Point shopping center when a woman found maggots in her Sushi, this was indicative of the fact the Sushi was clearly at least a day old given it takes Maggots a good 24 hours to hatch: Click hereAnd then today a woman has alleged that she found a dead Mouse in a Rice Paper Roll in Queensland. Be warned, the picture in this article is graphic[/color]: Article hereSo what say you, have you ever found anything weird in something you've eaten? Personally, I've been lucky enough to avoid such a fate. Any general comments on these goings on?

She was hospitalised later with hypothermia too, from what I've heard.

Torrential rains. I love torrential downpours and I'd just pull over to the side and enjoy it.
Burn alive or fall from a cliff?

Newborn baby found down drain in Quakers Hill by passing cyclists[/big][/big] A NEWBORN baby boy found down a drain in Sydney’s north west this morning has sparked an urgent manhunt for the child’s parents. The newborn was found about 7.30am by cyclists riding along the M7 Motorway cycleway at Quakers Hill. The cyclists heard a baby’s cry coming from the drain and found the child when they lifted the top of the drain away with the help of passers-by. Police later removed the newborn from the 2.5m-deep drain. The baby has no obvious signs of injury, but is being taken to the Children’s Hospital at Westmead for precautionary checks. Anyone with information about the identity of the child, or how he came to be in the drain, is urged to come forward. www.news.com.au/national/nsw-act/newborn-baby-found-down-drain-in-quakers-hill-by-passing-cyclists/story-fnii5s3x-1227132004892How horrid. I'm so glad that someone found the child before the worst happened! Who knows how he came to be there? He got have got there anyway. I'm really hoping they find who is responsible, and can identify the child - most of all, I'm really hoping he finds himself in a stable and loving home.

I have, and they absolutely do. Their song 'Hero of War' is still on high rotation on my playlist. Seriously one of my favorite songs. Check it out. Is that a relatively new song by Rise Against? No, pretty old. Maybe 2007?

So I dressed my daughter in one of her prettiest dresses today. White, with blue/leaves flowers - and prior (with much struggle, she hates having her hair done and screams bloody murder) my wife had give her a cute money tail (her hair is curly so it looks like a Poodle's tail. Anyway, when I dressed her she spun around and said "Ohhh baba! Me princess." then she points to my son and tells me 'Dress him princess too!' Then we did some grocery shopping and came home, and when I was bringing the groceries in she told my wife a 'tall man' had 'opened the door' and taken her. When asked if she was lying she was adamant that she wasn't. And lastly, even just while I was typing this post she said 'Baba me hide seek!' and jumped behind the chair against the corner (which she can't get out of) and in the process (as the landline is there) disconnected my wife's phone call to my mother-in-law by somehow pulling out the phone's cord.

A writer's group? You know, I'm not a person all about prestige. I think I'd sooner choose 4 other people who are sitting in cafes writing, than established ones.
I feel I'd get less arrogance and more help/benefit from such a situation.

I thought with some collective wisdom we could get a real thread of images from Google maps of THE WORST roads you've ever driven on. Feel free to post more than once if you top your own post. Mine was last year on Melbourne cup day (2013) as I was going to visit someone out in Mooroolbark, in Melbourne's East. I don't even know what to call what I saw, but the three round abouts in a row just threw me right out of kilter and I had NO idea what I was doing.

I read about this place in a news article some time ago, and I suppose from boredom decided to wiki it and refresh my memory. Legend apparently has it that this 430,000 square meter island is home to a Golden Lancehead (highly venomous pit viper) every square meter (though local legend also says five per square meter). o.0 en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ilha_da_Queimada_Grande
